Due to the recent influx of hackers on Hale and FreakFortress, we've enabled SourceMod Anti-Cheat a.k.a. SMAC on our servers. Unlike VAC (which is also enabled), SMAC bans are detected via behavioral patterns and instantly addressed. The lists are locally generated so should the need ever arise, we have the ability to unban any false positives.
Aimbots, speedhacks, etc. are all covered by SMAC and it does not conflict with Hale/FF boss speed bonuses or other server provided stat boosts like our custom weapons mod on the trade servers.

Valve is going to be rolling our a major change in the core of TF2 which will have a lot of implications so I wanted to let you guys know a couple things and provide a link to a more comprehensive FAQ.
There are a number of technical advantages to the new system, but it will likely create compatibility issues for our modded servers which we'll work to remedy as quickly as possible. We've been testing Hale on the beta (which has SteamPipe rolled out) and it seems to be funcitoning well, but that's not a guarantee.
Although Steam should automatically move your downloaded maps, sounds, sprays, etc. into a seperate folder before it completely changes the filesystem setup for the client on your computer, we highly recommend making a backup of the following folders just in case.
