With the Holiday Season now upon us, I figured it would be fun to do a little Secret Santa event here in Kablowsion. I'm confident you all know what a Secret Santa is, but it becomes slightly more complicated when dealing with online transactions rather than real life ones, so I'll explain how this is going to work below.

The only way to participate in this event is to volunteer to do so. Only those who participate will receive a gift, but they must also give a gift. I MUST STRESS THAT YOU, AS A PARTICIPANT, WILL ONLY RECEIVE A GIFT IF YOU ALSO GIVE ONE; IT'S ONLY FAIR.

You can volunteer to participate simply by stating that you want to participate in this thread. You must also include a wishlist of items you would like so that your Secret Santa has an idea of what you want. These items should be things like games, in-game items, DLCs, etc, but please try to be reasonable. Keep in mind these items MUST be something that can be exchanged through Steam Trade. This event will not work properly if the item or items cannot be transferred through multiple people through Steam Trade, because there will be middle men in this. I'll talk about the manner in which the gifts will be exchanged shortly.

Before that, though, I must inform you all that there is a cut-off date for applying to participate. This cut-off date is a week from now, and it is Thursday, December 13th. After the 13th, no more applications will be accepted. Once the cut-off date is reached, I will compile a full list of participants, and assign them to one another at random. After this, each person will be privately messaged by me about the person they must get a gift for, AKA the person they must be the Secret Santa of. YOU CANNOT TELL ANYONE WHO YOU ARE ACTING AS SECRET SANTA FOR, OTHER THAN ME AND/OR NINETEENELEVEN; THAT'S WHY IT'S CALLED SECRET SANTA.

Once you know who you must get a gift for, you will return to this thread and check that person's wishlist in order to know what to get them. I expect you guys to be generous, so don't get all cheap and get them something like a single piece of TF2 scrap metal. Please, be generous.

There is also a cut-off date for acquiring a gift. That date is December 23rd. If you do not acquire a gift by this date, you will not receive a gift, and the gift meant for you will stay with your Secret Santa, and will never be given to you.

Now on to the subject of middle men. NineteenEleven and I will act as middle men. The participants will invite either me (Hallowed Guru) or NineteenEleven (doesn't really matter which one of us) to a Steam Trade, and give the gift to us from your Steam Inventory before the acquisition cut-off date of December 23rd. Once again, the gift or gifts MUST be through Steam Trade, or this will not work. NineteenEleven and I will then distribute the gifts to those who are intended to receive them.

Remember, if you do not get a gift before the cut-off date of December 23rd, you will not receive your gift. You will also not receive a gift if Nineteen or I do not think you are being generous enough with your gift.

If you decide to buy something like a game through the Steam Store as a gift, remember that you must select "Purchase as a Gift" and then select "Store The Gift In My Inventory to Send Later." This places it in your Steam Inventory, and allows it to be exchanged between multiple people, which is necessary due to the element of the middle men.
